After second world war, the University of Würzburg enlarged their campus on the eastern hillside above the city.
The natural sciences have a particularly long tradition. W. C. Röntgen discovered the X-rays in Würzburg.
The auditorium serves as an assembly hall and can also be used for experiments. On two sides of the stage there are shifting platforms provided with all the necessary supply connections. The auditorium has daylight. It can be darkened by the use of blinds.
